Part of the project gecekondu plus.
The core of our project is about expanding the Gecekondu as a symbol for urban development from below, for a political, social and creative appropriation of public space - for a living neighbor solidarity. At the Gecekondu as well as in public space, we are creating new exhibition areas that will be used with (participatory) artistic, creative and political content / contributions within the framework of the project - and beyond.
Sefin A. is 13 years old and lives at Kotti. We got to know him as student representative of the Jens-Nydahl elementary school in a project with Kotti-Coop association. We also had great fun working with Sefin.
"Hi there,
I'm Sefin and I've been living at Kotti for over 4 years. Kotti is a home for me. And although many people are talking bad about it, I think it's a very nice place. I did a project here in which I asked people about Kotti. We hanged the answers on large banners at the Gecekondu. I really enjoyed working with my colleagues (Athena, Paco, Sandy).
Through this project I met such nice people who it was fun to work with. Thanks to Sandy for this chance to work with such nice people. I hope the readers like what I've done here and that many people can also find Kotti good."
1. how would you describe kotti in one word?
2. how can it be made better here?
3. what would you compare the kotti to? (animal, object, fictional characters,...)
